Help Tips


We have a wealth of information found inside our In-Product Help!
We want to share with you some tips on the best ways to use it:

  • To find a help topic, you can use the Help Index. The Help Index does not work like Google search. You use it like you would use the index in a book — there is a broad topic and then related sub-topics below that relate to the overall topic.

Searching your In-Product Help files:

  1. Log into your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. Click on ? Help in the top right corner.
    Click on the ? Help link.
  3. In 1. Type beginning of keyword section, click inside the field to begin typing.
    Example: inv
    Type: inv in Search
  4. In the select a keyword... section, notice all the possible topics and sub-topics related to inventory, investments, invoices etc.

  5. Click once to highlight the topic you are interested in viewing.
  6. In the 2. Select a topic... section, you should now see a list of sub-topics associated with the main topic you are interested in viewing.

  7. Once you have finalized what you'd like to view, go to section 3. Click to show topic.

  8. Click once on the 3. Click to show topic button and a pop-up Help topic dialog box should appear.

    • When you read through this information, you will find many clickable links that take you to additional information or detailed steps.
    • If you navigate away from this main Help topic window, you can get back to it by clicking on the Back button on the top left.
    • You can click Print to print the help topic as well.
    • This Help topic window will stay open in addition to your main QuickBooks Online company browser window so that you can perform the steps listed while you are inside your company. Note: You can click and move your mouse to move this Help window wherever is most convenient.
    • Scroll to the bottom of the Help topic window to find the question, "Did this Help topic give you the information you needed?" If you find the information you're looking for, click Yes. If you are unsuccessful, click No.

Providing Help Feedback:

  1. Click Yes or No.
  2. Click inside the field that now becomes available and fill in the form with details.
  3. Click Send.

  4. When you are finished, click on the Close button at the top of the window.
