QuickBooks Online Success Story

The Trophy Case, a new business, needed to share its books with an off-site store owner

When The Trophy Case opened earlier this year in Murray, Kentucky, General Manager Monty McCuiston was managing the books the way many small businesses do: with paper and pencil. Monty wanted to share access to the business' finances with the owner of the store, who lives in Pennsylvania. He looked for an accounting solution that would solve this need to collaborate with the owner. QuickBooks Online was the answer.

"I was impressed by how intuitive QuickBooks Online is compared to other accounting products," says Monty. "I was able to get up and running very quickly."

At the end of each day, Monty now goes home and enters the total cost of goods sold in QuickBooks Online. (He tracks the inventory separately through a manual count.) The store owner then uses the Internet from his home in Pennsylvania to track how the business is doing.

Monty says the Trophy Case plans to open additional locations in the future. When it does, he'll be able to use QuickBooks Online to track the profitability of the business by location. As the business grows, QuickBooks Online will continue to grow with it by adding new users and locations.
